What is this role, exactly?
A 1099 commission-only community solar sales position. You knock doors and enroll homeowners for a discount on their electric bill. Base salary is zero. Cap on what you can earn is also zero.
Do people actually make money here?
Yes. Most reps who stick with the process hit $10K to $15K months after a few months on the team, and top performers clear $25K in a single month. Those numbers come from 30 to 40 hours a week, five or six days a week. No income is guaranteed.
Why community solar vs other industries?
The demand holds up in a recession, and pay cycles run one to two weeks once a deal is issued. Housing is covered and your flight out is reimbursed. The customer pays nothing and isn't locked into anything, so the sale is much easier than most door to door offers.
I'm new to sales. Can I still find success?
Yes. Two of our 18 year old reps, Aiden and Elliot, hit over $15K their first month with zero sales experience. We send you the full training before you arrive, and a trainer works with you in the field every day until you close your first deal.
What does travel look like?
We run contracts in nine states at a time: Maine, Massachusetts, Delaware, Illinois, Minnesota, Virginia, New Mexico, Colorado, and Maryland. Your team placement decides where you work. Three weeks on, one week off. Your week off can be used to fly home or anywhere else in the world.
What does "culture" mean here?
Most guys your age are stuck in environments that make them worse. Late nights, garbage food, vaping all day, hanging around people with no ambition. That's not how we operate. Our teams cold plunge in the morning, hit the gym, and keep the house dialed, with no vaping, drinking, or partying on the job.
What incentives can I earn?
We've already run Rolexes, Swiss Alps trips, mission trips, sales conferences, and music festivals.
